What is the Charter of Naturalization?

It is a method of acquiring Spanish nationality that will be granted, optionally, by the Government through a Royal Decree, after assessing the concurrence of exceptional circumstances in the applicant.

This resource is regulated by article 21 of the Spanish civil code.

PROCESS

Steps to follow to obtain nationality

Request for family tree for analysis by genealogists.
Issuance of the genealogical report of origin and application to the FCJE (Federation of the Jewish Community of Spain).
Request for legalized and apostilled documents.
Registration with the corresponding entity. Issuance of the Naturalization Letter.

Necessary documentation

  • Model of Application for Spanish Nationality by Letter of Naturalization.
  • Literal Birth Certificate, Legalized or Apostilled, and if applicable, translated.
  • Criminal Record Certificate from the Country of Origin and - Legalized and translated residence (only for those over 18 years of age).
  • Documents proving the existence of exceptional circumstances.
  • Other Documents that the Interested Party deems appropriate.
