The minimum wage in Spain will rise by 5% by 2024.
Since January 12, the Government has raised the Interprofessional Minimum Wage by 5%, meaning that it will now be 1,134 euros, spread over 14 payments. Importantly, it is retroactive to January 1, 2024.
The Government has been increasing the Interprofessional Minimum Wage in recent years, from 735 euros to 1,080 in 2023, an increase of 47%. Since 2018, the Interprofessional Minimum Wage has increased by 54%.
The Interprofessional Minimum Wage refers to the gross salary of the worker. As we have mentioned before, the 1,134 euros per month are distributed in 14 payments and if the extra payments are prorated, they would be 1,323 euros per month in 12 payments.
