Professional Internship Residency

Residencia para Prácticas Profesionales

The Professional Internship Residency can be done in two ways: through an internship agreement or an internship contract that grants you a residency.

What does it consist of?

The residence permit for professional internships allows a person to access a residence card. This is possible if the foreigner is already in Spain with a stay for studies and wants to change his legal status to this permit, or if he is outside of Spain.

There are two ways to apply for this residence:

Residence for Professional Internships through an agreement: One of the possibilities of obtaining this permit is through an internship agreement. This agreement must be signed by an institution or a company.

Internship Residency through a contract: Another possibility to obtain this residency is by having a professional internship contract. To do this, it is necessary to have completed the degree/studies, in order to sign a full employment contract, which is established in the labor regulations. With this contract, the foreigner will work like any other employee of the company.

We would like to remind you that it is possible to apply for this residence if you are a foreigner who has completed his or her studies outside of Spain and wants to carry out an internship agreement or internship contract. In other words, you can apply for this permit while in your country of origin. It is important to note that this residence is valid for a period of 12 months, that is, one year.
